Procedures and registration periods differ between Kita, primary school and secondary school. An appointment and direct contact with the institution are often needed.
Documents and information to prepare
- Parents’ and child’s ID documents
- Birth certificate or family register
- Proof of address
- Vaccination record or evidence of measles protection where requested
- For secondary school: latest half-year report, registration slip and data sheet
- Custody records and the other parent’s consent where relevant
- For children arriving from abroad: school records, certificates and translations
- For OGS/Kita fees: current household income and benefit evidence
Important to know
In Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Kita registration involves contacting and meeting the preferred centres. The city has a separate process for children without a place or arriving during the year.
